Everyone claims to love colorful fall foliage so why do they expend so much time, effort and money removing every last "beautiful" leaf from their yards?

I think NIMBY applies to fall foliage as well: We love looking at the leaves & colors everywhere but in our own backyards. That is my final answer.
I saw a comment on another blog where you wrote something about having a math phobia. Have you ever heard of dyscalculia? It's "math dyslexia". Try a google search!
