I am thinking maybe it has something to do with the fact that in England they say "Flutterbye" I am sure we Americanized the word and transposed 'flutter' and 'by' making it a "Butterfly". I to have pondered on this.....
I just heard on tv something about this, but I just caught the very end and missed the actual explanation. Shoot!
And flies don't butter.
Like time, butter flies too. One day, you got plenty, the next day, you have run out of it and need to go back to the store for more.
