I grew up with a cat, but now I don't like pets.
That's as great question. We just got cats (or kittens) as pets, and I'll be damned if I can answer it.

Sylvana, I tell my cat that he can't sleep in my room because I only sleep with males of my own species.
Neither of my pets are allowed in my bedroom because they can't keep their hair and dander to themselves!
