If drinking and driving is illegal, then why do bars have parking lots?

That is a good question. And it brings to mind another question I've been mulling over for awhile: When are we going to have drive-thru bars?

Hey Ace -- thanks for letting me know. This clearly bears further inquiry and it is, as I often say (tiresomely, I might add), another example of why blogs were invented.

So people can park their cars to sleep in nearby after they had a drink too many at the bar.

Or for the staff of course!

Astrid - I have done that, slept in my car in the parking lot after a few too many.

Can't sleep in your car here when you are drunk it is against the law and they still charge you with DUI because you have care and custody of the vehicle. My thoughts are that the parking lots are for bar fights or now for smoking.
